To think About

Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

We know that the word of God is true, and He is a faithful God. He tells us what to do to become prosperous and have good success; meditate on His Word day and night, and do according to all that is written.

Webster’s Dictionary meaning of meditate is “to think about, to think deeply and continuously. Reflect on sacred matters as a devotional act.” Just reading and memorizing scripture is not enough. We have to get it in our hearts, read the word over and over to get a good understanding, and then apply it to our lives. God’s word never changes. The more we meditate on the word the more our minds are renewed, and the more we become like Jesus. When situations arise, we will be able to overcome them by the Word of God, as Jesus said to Satan, “It is written.” We can quench all the fiery darts of the enemy, and have an answer to everything we encounter. The more time we spend with God, the stronger our faith becomes and our confidence is built up. So, set some time apart for God in His Word, and live a prosperous, successful and abundant life.
