Seasons

Can you believe that spring is right around the corner? It’s amazing how the seasons come and go. In the beginning when God made the heavens and the earth, He created the seasons for a specific time. (Genesis 1:14) “And God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years.”

There are seasons in the weather and there are seasons in our lives. In the spring there is a time of sowing; new beginnings; springing up of life. In the summer there is a time of laboring; cultivating what has sprung up. In the fall there is a time of harvest; a time of gathering up what was sown. And in the winter there is a time of rest; a time to be still. As believers, God takes us through these seasons; seasons to grow, seasons to flourish, seasons to labor, and seasons to rest.

We have to believe and trust God for every season we go through. Ecclesiastes 3 tells us that there is a season or time for all things. “A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance. A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.” No matter what season you may be in, wait on God, and do not move before His timing.
