Seeds Of Strife

Proverbs is a book that teaches us how to live a good Christian life. These teachings are from our heavenly Father, and they are taught with love from His heart to ours. Deuteronomy 7:9 tells us that “God is a faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” One of God’s commandments is not to gossip. Gossip destroys a family (the church). Proverbs 26:20 says, “It takes fuel to have a fire; a fire dies down when you run out of fuel. So quarrels disappear when the gossip ends.” And Proverbs 16:28 says, “A troublemaker plants seeds of strife; gossip separates the best of friends.” We as the “Body of Christ” should not fall into the snares of the enemy. He is out to bring division and destruction to the “Body.” We are to walk in love, which is a fruit of the Spirit. And we have this commandment from God that, “He who loves God loves his brother also, and this love is made perfect in us.” In 1 Corinthians 1:10, Paul tells the Corinthians to stop arguing among themselves. Let there be real harmony so there won’t be division in the church. He pleads with them to be of one mind, united in thought and purpose. And this message is for us, also. Psalm 133:1-2, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothren to dwell together in unity.”
