Humanity has lived under a curse since the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. There is sickness, disease, death, poverty, depression, violence, discrimination, and discouragement in the world today, just to name a few. But God sent His one and only Son into the world to give us hope. That some day, in God’s own time all this will change. The curse will be lifted, and God will make everything “new.” (Revelation 21:3-5) “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself shall be with them and be their God.” v4) “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, neither crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” v5)“And He who sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.”

So, this “New Year” let us not be slothful, but let us run the race that is set before us. And as followers of those, our forefathers, who through faith and patience inherit the promises of God.
