Trees of Righteousness

As Christians we are to live righteously, because the God we serve is righteous. Everything He is, we are to live it. The Bible says in Matthew 7:20, “Therefore by their fruits, you will know them.” A tree or a plant produces fruit according to its character. A good tree bears good fruit and a bad tree bears bad fruit.

As “Trees of Righteousness,” What kind of fruit are you producing? Are you producing fruit of love, joy, peace, patient, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control? Or are you producing fruit of hatred, contentions, jealousies, envy, strife, bitterness, selfishness, rudeness and malice? Is your fruit pleasing to God? “From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind. From His dwelling place He watches all who live on earth; He who forms the hearts of all; who considers everything they do.” We cannot hide from Him. Psalms 139:7-10 says, “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence. v8) “If I ascent into heaven, you are there; If I make my bed in sheol, behold, you are there.” v9) “If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,” v10) Even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.”

So, the next time you start to gossip or speak evil of another, to do something or even think something that is not according to the word of God, Remember God is “Omnipresent.” He is everywhere, and He sees everything. And one day we will have to answer to Him.
